As a customer of Hafslund or Eidsiva you will not notice any immediate changes from having a new grid operator. A new website will be in place by the end of 2020; in the meantime, your point of contact will be the company you are a customer of today.
The merger between Hafslund and Eidsiva will result in a significantly bigger and more efficient power grid operator, which will benefit all our customers. At the same time, we have an ambition to be a future-oriented company, which will use new technology, in order to be able to deliver solutions our customers both want and will appreciate.
Our ambition is to secure a stable power supply and future-oriented solutions for our customers, while we also keep the power grid rent as low as possible.
Information about the background of the name Elvia will be communicated during 2020.
The most important thing is not what the company is called, but that you as a customer can be sure that you are getting a stable power supply and future-oriented solutions. Together with our customers, Elvia, what we do and what we deliver, will define what the name will mean for people in Innlandet, Viken and Oslo.
As a customer, you will not notice any immediate changes resulting from the merger between Hafslund Nett and Eidsiva Nett. In 2020, Elvia will establish its own website with the company's new profile.

In the second half of 2019, the merger between Eidsiva Nett and Hafslund Nett was signed. For this reason, a new name for the new company was a natural decision.
At the same time, some changes in the regulations for grid companies and power companies were decided. In Norway, there are 124 grid companies and 113 power suppliers. Many of these have the same owner, name and logo, which can be confusing for the customers. Therefore, the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) decided that from 1 January 2021, the grid companies and power suppliers cannot have the same name and logo.
At Elvia, we believe this is a good and important step, so that we can contribute to making the picture clearer for our customers. We also consider this an opportunity to build a closer relationship with our customers and increase the knowledge of what we do, for consumers, businesses, and the society in general.
By the end of 2020, Elvia will have a fully functional website, which will then replace the Hafslund Nett and Eidsiva Nett websites.

The Elvia name, with the new logo and graphic profile, will replace the Hafslund Nett and Eidsiva Nett logos wherever they are today. Everything from signage on buildings, work clothes, websites and our social media channels will appear in a new profile during 2020. At the same time, we are also focused on making changes in a sensible, cost-effective and sustainable way.
Along witht the name change, a number of changes have to be made to the IT systems of Hafslund Nett and Eidsiva Nett. These will be done gradually and based on what is most beneficial for our customers.
For now, there will be no changes in the power grid rent prices.
You will not need to make any changes in your online bank. Regardless if you are a customer of Hafslund or Eidsiva, your bills will still be sent directly to your bank, if you are using this solution today.
If your power company offers direct invoicing from the power grid companies, you will get both grid rent and usage on the same invoice.
No, you do not need to change your power meter. All grid companies in Norway use the same power meter.
Your customer information will not change. Your power meter number, customer number and other details will be the same.
