This is Norgespris

Norgespris is a new public support scheme that gives you a predictable electricity price throughout the year. On this page, you’ll find a simple explanation of how Norgespris works, answers to common questions and what it means for you.

How Norgespris works

Norgespris gives you the same price all year round, and offers a fixed price of NOK 0.50 per kWh including VAT (NOK 0.40 excluding VAT) for electricity consumption in homes and holiday homes.

If you choose Norgespris, you will pay NOK 0.50/kWh including VAT throughout the year. This means you will either receive a credit or an additional charge on your grid fee invoice. In addition to paying Norgespris, you must also pay grid fees, taxes and any surcharges from your electricity supplier.

Note! You cannot combine other electricity support schemes with Norgespris, and you still need to have an electricity supply contract with an electricity supplier.

The scheme applies to household electricity consumption in homes and holiday homes. Norgespris applies up to a maximum monthly limit. For consumption above this, you pay the price agreed with your electricity supplier

  • 5,000 kWh for households
  • 1,000 kWh for cabins/holiday homes

Before choosing Norgespris, you should consider

  1. Where in Norway your home/cabin/holiday home is located. Norway is divided into five electricity price zones (bidding zones). There can be major price differences between these zones. For example, the spot price has been much higher in recent years in NO2 (Southern Norway) than in NO4 (Northern Norway).
  2. How your electricity consumption varies throughout the year. You should think about when in the year your consumption is highest. Electricity prices are typically higher in the winter months than in the summer.
  3. If you are planning to move, be aware that Norgespris is tied to your electricity meter, not to you personally.

Note that future electricity prices are difficult to predict and it is therefore not possible to say with certainty that Norgepsris will be more cost-effective.

How to order

You can opt for Norgespris at minside.elhub.no. Log in via electronic ID (BankID, MinID, Buypass, or Commfides). If you have problems ordering online, you can contact your grid company.

If you have more than one electricity meter registered under your name, you must order Norgespris for each meter. You can choose whether you want Norgespris for one or more meters.

Contact your grid company if you have questions, need help, or are unable to place your order online.

Binding period

The fixed price of NOK 0.50 including VAT applies for the period until 31. december 2026. You can opt for Norgespris any time, and the agreement takes effect from the date you order.

  • You have a 14-day cancellation period from the date you order.

After the cancellation period ends, your electricity meter will be locked into Norgespris for the remainder of the agreement period, i.e. until 31. december 2026.

Remember that you have to order the Norgespris yourself – it is not given automatically

Avoid fraud

  • You should not click on links in emails
  • You will not receive any home visits in connection with Norgespris
  • You still need to have an electricity supply contract with an electricity supplier

Norgespris: Invoice and payment

You still pay for electricity to your electricity supplier, but Elvia adjusts your grid tariff invoice up or down so that you end up paying a total of NOK 0.50 per kWh

Examples:

  • If the electricity price is NOK 0.80 per kWh, you get NOK 0.30 back on the grid tariff.
  • If the electricity price is NOK 0.40 per kWh, Elvia adds NOK 0.10 to the grid tariff.

In total, it will always be NOK 0.50 per kWh. You can monitor the spot price and your consumption by logging in to Elvias Min side.
